OK, I've been doing the install of my new heater (thanks to this forum) the deal was, the heater (OEM) has a 6 volt fan, I, long ago, changed the truck to 12 volt....SO, I'm at the auto parts store looking for a voltage reducer thingy and the guy say's...hook in a balast resistor and that will reduce the volts to 9 (volts) for $3.50, I tried it, the fan runs a little faster (= more heat ?), the reeeostat cost $10 and the instructions said I needed 3 of them for something that draws 12 amps (I have no idea what the motor draws but 12 amps sounded good)....It was all too easy (and cheap), whatdayathink????
