Sources for info on uprgrading 4BT diesels

I'm looking for any sources of information on upgrading the 4BT for better performance. Looking for any comparisons on boost, injector rates and compression.

Also, are there any aftermarket 3.9 BT in automotive trim, or is the earlier 4BTs.

Last topic, is there a reason (emissions)that these are not produced in automotive trim.
