Everyone,
Had a disappointing afternoon trying to start the WM300 after a year long engine and other things build (coolant check, wiring check, fuel system purged, pressure oil lubed and hit the start button with not engine rotation..... :( )
It would seem the starter (new) would not engage the pinion gear to the flywheel. So i removed the starter and bench tested and the pinon did not come out at first and then got stuck half way out (see picture) and would not go back down. I assume this is not normal and is an issue and should retract? Also I assume the pinion gear is supposed to come all the way out? I just want to check before I call the vendor and ask?
Also, has any one had any luck with an aftermarket starter from IMI performance products?
Thanks
Glenn
