Power-Wagon equipped with "Hy-Rail" wheels to enable it to operate on standard gauge (4' 8-1/2") railroad track. It was modified by Fairmont Railway Motors of Fairmont, MN. It appears to be a third series truck with a 230 CU IN engine. Fairmont Railway Motors is still in business and manufactures various types of railroad maintenance equipment. When I was on a business visit quite a few years ago to a company in Minneapolis, MN that at that time was supplying gasoline engines to Fairmont, my company contact arraigned for he and I to visit Fairmont Railway Motors and tour the factory.
The photo was taken very near the Fairmont factory. Notice that there is no Power-Wagon emblem on the side of the hood, but there is a Fairmont emblem in its place.
