My attention has been drawn to a 1962 vintage 1/2 ton that has been retrofitted with a Cummins 4BT engine. When it was first pointed out to me, I sort of naively assumed it was likely a 5.9 Cummins dropped in an old truck, but nope, it was the a turbocharged 4BT. The owner knows next to nothing about the conversion, and all I can tell right now is that the transmission was swapped out at the same time as its a five speed with an overdrive, something Dodge wouldn't have made in 62 obviously.
This truck isn't a Power Wagon, but a regular 4x4 1/2 ton pickup. Granted, while its almost impossible to know too much about this truck based on this entry, does anyone know anything about the turbocharged 4BT? Should I expect it to be able to get up to highway speed in a region where 75 is the common traveling speed?
