I saw that but I was a little confused. Others on the forum have stated the M37 trans will directly interchange with with the FFPW's spur gear transmission as a replacement. After doing some research I find that not to be the case. The early M37 Model 88950 transmission considered the "Heavy Duty Helical Gear Transmission," that is not consider an early NP420, will interchange, however the later M37 (57-68) NP420 will not, it's the same as the FFPW that has the NP420, case number 93511. The numbers provided have clarified that for me. This is an important factor for someone looking to swap out a spur gear and thinking of using an M37 transmission from any year.
Also the PTO assemblies between the two M37 transmissions will not directly interchange since the cluster gear between the Model 8950 and NP420 has different gear teeth amounts, so the idler has to be changed out before they can be used depending on which transmission it came from and what transmission it will be used on. Thanks Kevin!!
