Was planning on working on an old camper I have been restoring today. It is in a bay of my shop that is isolated from the rest of the shop by an interior overhead door. The door was closed. We call it the clean room, and it generally is! I was on the other side of the interior overhead door, which is all glass panels. Suddenly, BOOM, the loudest explosion I think I have ever heard! the "clean room" was instantly filled with an yellowish cloud. I figured out right away that a fire extinguisher had exploded. it was a 16 pounder. The head had blown off, put a hole in the ceiling before falling back down. I found the tank underneath the camper, with a big dent in the bottom where it hit the floor. And dust, literally everywhere. Not just on the horizontal surfaces, verticle too. And underneath the horizontal surfaces, just everywhere. I spent about 6 hours with a shop vac and I am probably 75% done.
If it had held on for another half hour I would have been working about 3 feet from it. Coulda been worse!
