You fill the oil through the plug/hole on the passenger side of the case. The oil level should be at or just below the bottom of the hole. The case takes about 3 quarts I think.
You don't need to drain the case to deal with the parking brake seal. The oil level is several inches below it.
Not sure what you mean by "2 sides", can you elaborate?
I think the torque spec is something like 300ft/lbs. I run mine on with a 1/2" impact wrench. I quit when the socket starts to bounce on the nut. Sneak up on it so you can get the cotter pin into the shaft.
