Hi Howard,
Try to find out if the 5 speed is an overdrive. Otherwise, 5th gear is direct drive, just like what you already have.
If the transmission is an NP540, they will fit and the driveshaft will be tiny but it will work. The NP540 came as either direct drive or overdrive.
