Paint Type in 1966

My 66 has nice original dark green, but a previous owner partially painted over the doors with what I'm guessing is a hardware store rattle can. Would the original paint likely be a 2-part polyurethane, i.e. pretty impervious to solvents, so I can try to take the spray paint off? Any experience along these lines would be great. Thanks
