what I have been using the last 5 years is the flux coated silcone bronze brazing rods. I did exhaust manifold work in the Seattle area for about 12 years. I seemed to work in the few shops that would do it. back then I farmed out the repairs to a British WW2 fighter pilot who spent decades after the war building roads in Africa and in his retirement restored steam powered equipment he had shipped to Lynwood wa to work on and play with. I would take him (mostly FE ford, the worst manifolds ever designed) manifolds broken completely in half and he would braze them back into prefect condition. none ever came back!
