Motorola Noise Suppressor

Greetings,

Today I located a small item that looks like a condenser affixed to my 54 PW's generator. Looking at it closely revealed the markings, "Motorola 8A821889".

Looking this up seems to indicate that it is an old noise suppressor, presumable to silence interference on an old radio system.

Does anyone else have one of these or is this just a relic left over from my trucks prior service life?
