My mechanical fuel pump stopped working so I pulled the fuel tank off and cleaned it. Then installed a 6 volt electric fuel pump about 18 inches from the tank. Ran new wires to the pump from the battery, including an on/off switch.
Put fuel in the tank and hit the switch. Pump began humming but no fuel from the tank. The fuel filter remains dry.
Since the furl line exits the top of the tank, gravity doesn't seem to be a factor. So do electric pumps need to be primed? I've not had to do so previously.
Thanks.
Mike
