Heaters were an extra accessory and not accounted for in the wiring harness. If the dealer installed a MoPar accessory heater, or even if it was installed at the factory, the wiring was heater specific and not part of the truck's wiring harness. Usually these came with installation instructions that included directions and templates for heater and controls mounting methods and locations. Depending upon the model, the installer could have been directed to source power from a hot wire at the ignition switch, ammeter, or headlight switch. This usually passed through an in-line fuse before traveling to the control switch.
