Yup...I was just telling a friend. You can still find low mileage D250 & D350 2WD first gens for dirt cheap. Like $10k or less for a pristine 2WD with under 100k.
So the getrag is garbage even if it has 10k original miles & so you do an NV4500 upgrade or even a G56 6 speed with 205 transfer case & then install the Dana 60 up front. So with all the linkage, driveshaft tires etc...what you figure...$8k max? So you’re at $18k for a primo First Gen & is hazard a guess you could make money if you did the right original paint truck.
Here’s one here...perfect!! Just a few more miles than I’d be prepared to invest in that project....
