There is an alternative, depending on where you live. I live on a small farm in a semi-rural place.
As such I don’t have the same “codes” as a housing development.
I got a bulk tank from Tractor Supply and get 100 gallons of non ethanol delivered, from a local oil and gas company.
While more expensive than gas at the stations, it is significantly less when bought this way than the $10 a gallon you mention; I think it was about $3.50 gallon last time I purchased it.
I use it in all my small engines and also the power wagons unless I am on a road trip of course.
