Sal:
This is a frequently asked question by DIYer's and here's how I like to respond:
Powdercoating: quite expensive, looks great, requires white metal blast, can't be repaired, so basically you have to start all over again.
Epoxies: fairly expensive, requires a near perfect metal prep job if not media blast, looks good, must be topcoated, can be repaired but not without much more work.
Moisture cured urethanes: several on the market & all are fairly expensive, can apply over marginally prepped steel, looks fairly glossy, can be topcoated but not without some effort, not easily repairable, contains Isocyanate derivatives.
Zero Rust: inexpensive, easy to apply (aerosol or bulk-spray, brush or roll), very easily repairable, topcoatable at your option, can be applied to marginally prepped steel, close to an OEM finish, No Isocyanates or Lead to worry about.
There are any number of ways to tackle the situation - just make a reasoned comparison and then make an informed decision.
I'm a little partial to the latter treatment as are a growing number of other DIYer's who have tried our products.
