In 1964/65, my father wanted a new truck for his buisness. He took me shopping with him.
I was 9/10 years old at the time. We took out a truck as pictured above, only painted green and stick shift. We only went a short distance, (in a brand new Power Wagon!!!), and the truck rode so hard, (we felt every little bump), that my dad decieded right then and there that this wasn't the truck for him. This was my first exposure to a Power Wagon.
Instead he bought a Ch&%y C-10 "smoothside".
The truck was totally worthless!!! It would get stuck in a mud puddle in our parking lot!!! (This is the truth Ch&%y lovers).
I don't know how long we kept it but the next truck was a D-300 which was really too big for our operation.
After that truck we went to a regular pick-up, (undersprung cause it was cheap), with a stakebody.
When we kids took over the helm, I made sure we got a Power Ram pick-up that we put a stakebody on. The 4X4 has been a big plus for our buisness because now we can go out during a snowstorm to service our customers.
So if I could, I would buy this truck in a minute for the happy memories it invokes however I already have 3 Power Wagon trucks.
