Went shopping for a new truck. After 2 months I thought I found a truck that would meet our needs (Dodge Ram, 1996, Club Cab, Long Bed, V-8, 5.9L etc.) until I called the guy who had it last, who turn it in to the dealer - on trade. He told me that it was normal for them trucks that have 6700 miles plus on them to start loosing oil. He said he had to put about 1 quart in every 1,000 miles. Go figure!!! I have not bought the truck, just took it home for a couple of days. Due tell if the Dodge Ram trucks have low miles and burn oil? and Why???
It's taken me 2 months to find a truck that meets our specks and now this.
All you Dodge fans duck... we really wanted a GMC with the features I listed above.
Oh and buy the way, the guy who had the truck before us said he would buy the truck we are looking at (his old truck), just get a warranty. They want to charge 1634.00 for a two year warranty. It does cover all engine and trans. part along with door handles etc..... too long to name.
I'm going to take the truck back and walk away, but I would like to get educated.
Thank you for your time
