Bodywork question

There's been a few postings lately from PW owners who have utilized all usable parts from used-up cabs. The question has come up of whether they should go to the crusher. My question is this: Both of my rear cab corners are rusted through (see photo)and so is the bottom rear edge of my cab between the frame rails. If and when I ever get this far in my restoration, I was planning on paying a shop to weld in new metal (this task goes beyond my abilities and currently owned tools). If I can find an old cab where these sections are still intact, would it be better to cut-and-patch, or am I better off sticking with the original plan and shaping new sheet metal to fit?? Has anyone ever patched in cab corners from a second cab? I would feel proud to have utilized old iron of a cab destined for the crusher, but then the question arises: When I'm done hacking it apart, then what?? My wife doesn't go in for the vintage truck lawn ornaments / planters / dog houses / etc. Any comments appreciated. Bruce '53 B4-PW
