Engines with liners installed are considered stronger than non liner engines. It’s common for racers to run 8 liners in a brand new engine. The steel the liners are made from is far superior to the steel in an engine block.
Properly installed liners, they bore a larger hole with a step in the bottom so that the liner gets bottomed into the bore, then the extra surfaced off up top & so the liner is sandwiched between the step & your head.
The engine is rebored after installation & the only bad part about liners...expensive. Plan on roughly $1200 just to install liners & bore. Any good engine shop will be able to tell you all about it.
