Since I have given a bunch of other information about these unique trucks, thought I would add a bit more. They all had dual PTO's on the transmission, one for the front mounted King winch, one for a rear facing hydraulic pump that raised and lowered a fire break plow. The fire break plow was a V-plow hooked up to a very heavy duty hitch built under the rear of the bed.
For those curious, yes, I have one of these, a '66 W500 that still has most of the fire equipment. I actually have three of the fire beds, but am missing the rear V-plow. I also have copies of the plans for modifying the cab-chassis to make them into forest fire fighting rigs.
