Good eye, Clint. My Kenmore even has a Self-Cleaning Filter! When I bought my home 43 years ago, the washing machine and dryer were specifically excluded from the contract; they did not come with the house. But after closing they were left here by the sellers, so I figured they were inoperable duds staged for show only and I'd have to have them hauled away at my expense. Grrrr.
I took my first few loads of laundry to the laundromat, where I knew the machines would work. But after 3 weeks I decided to give my leftover appliances a whirl; they worked!! The washing machine wobbled a bit so I took off the back, replaced the worn V belt and tightened its pulley. It is still working fine after 43++ years, a true testament to Kenmore quality. I did replace the original dryer 25 years ago, and its slightly smaller replacement still works fine.
I didn't start out to collect and maintain vintage appliances, but now regard my sturdy Kenmore as the Power Wagon of washing machines. And keeping its top polished makes a fine studio for my vintage parts portraits. :)
