ot but dodge backfire Q

I have a 361-3 Dodge truck engine in my 61 flatbed. it has the 70s mopar electronic ignition in it and it isn't wired right. I have not had time to correct it. been using truck as a tool on a major rehab project.
it back fires on deceleration. runs great otherwise. looking at the way the PO wired it I think its getting too many volts at low rpms.

want opinions on what causes backfire on decel.
