You need to have a professional appraiser put a price on your truck. Then provide that to your insurance to set the set value. Your correct, you need to provide information on trucks sold as most appraisers are not familiar with our truck values. Also provide information if your truck has won in major shows as it will bump the price up.
I know as I had a Willys that got totaled. The insurance offered a couple of hundred. I had the professional appraisal. Insurance had to take it. It was done by one of the appraisers that they recommend. It gave me multiple thousands more.
