The drum shaft keys are hardened material. Try soaking in penetrating oil, and periodically tap the key with a punch and hammer. Using a 3/32 welding rod, weld a bolt to the key as others have mentioned. Welding will shrink the key and the bolt will allow you to work it out. You might want a machinist to do it.
