I dont powder coat my rims/wheels. If the powder coat gets compromised, cracked or chipped when mounting tires, water will eventually work its self
under the existing power coat and rust. After rust starts to form, the undamaged powder coat will start to lift and peel.

Whereas epoxy paint can be touched up with proper prep and application and look like the area was never damaged.
