The biggest mistake I see people do is try to use the bolt as an aligning tool. Meaning, drive the bolt in with a hammer and kicking a burr/boogering the threads. Once you kick a burr like that, even antisieze probably won't overcome it. It'll fusion weld against the other side and your done. If you can't slip the bolt in by hand, correct the problem before creating another. Blind holes need to be chased with a tap and have some tap magic or oil on it when doing it.
Like you said, I've never had a problem bending or double flaring and I'm using a standard set. Done close to 40 complete system over the years. No failures in any of the lines but I wish I could say the same with masters and wheel cylinders.
