The cracks I have found run from the mounting bolt holes to the centre hole of the drum and from the mounting bolt holes out towards the brake drum flange. Sometimes it is one crack, sometimes it is four - each one from a different bolt hole. Every used drum I have looked at has these cracks - which adds up to about a dozen. They are usually hard to see.
