Recently rebuilt FFPW Carburator, float was sticking open after some driving time. No amount of tapping with a hammer handle would free it up. It didn't do it all the time either.

Today I took the top off(again) and discovered that the U shaped retainer spring that fits down in the slots over the top of the hinge pin was missing. So, the float was floating.

Problem solved by opening up a donor carb and taking the retainer out of that carb.
