Yeah, that is true about the unsprung weight. The pancake motors mounted as a hub on each wheel would be rather heavy.

I'm not sure I'm ready for electrified 4x4 pickups yet though. To convert a classic is going to be expensive. Most people don't drive their classic car/trucks as daily drivers anyways, so whatever environmental impacts are low anyhow.

I remember seeing an old military film clip of an M37 that was fitted with a hydrogen fuel cell back in the 1950s. It might have been on YouTube, I think.
