Thanks one and all. Much appreciate everyone's tips and suggestions. Haven't found a cover yet, but have emailed VPW (don't show one in their catalog), and plan to call Midwest Military as they don't show one online. Remain a little confused about the "brake/clutch" at the spool? My winches are Braden MU-2s. When I disengage the dog clutch at the winch I'm free-spooling (no brake and the only way I can free spool). Control inside the cab is for winch-in or winch-out which is reversed depending on whether I'm using the front or rear winch. Winches are activated with the foot clutch (tranny in neutral, of course). It is IMPERATIVE operator disengages the dog clutch (locking yoke, whatever it's called) of the winch not in use otherwise both winches will turn and potentially fold the truck in half (heh-heh). A lot to remember, especially for me. I've owned the truck for 15+ years, use it primarily when I need a winch, and so far I've gotten lots of work done with minor damage, and still have ten fingers (knoock on wood)!! Both winches "hold" independently (i.e., plow in front, gin poles in back), IF they're left "locked" at the winch. Can only use one or the other, not both.
