Vaughn, Thanks for that perspective. I have driven the 1954 FFPW donor truck before I started picking parts off it and if my memory is correct there was no issues with the transmission.

I opened it up, cleaned all the old gunk in the bottom, and closed it up using new gaskets. I may install the 1954 and run it for a while to see how it sounds.
