This photo is from a M38-A1 jeep, but I think the concept would work on the PowerWagon too. I just cut a center hole a little bigger than the steering column in the block of wood, then drilled through holes for 1/2" threaded rod. Then cut it in half and used the rod to close it back up over the column. Reinforced with a couple small pieces of angle iron where the puller jaws latch on, it lets you put pressure across the entire lower surface of the steering wheel without damaging the bottom of the wheel. I used it on a 1953 boat recently too, but don't have any photos of that operation.
