Bill, this is not a joke. New mechanical fuel pump purchased from Rock Auto. Down the road at any given load the engine starves for fuel.
New fuel lines, tight fittings, heat shield on the exhaust manifold, clean clear plastic fuel filter between the mechanical pump and the carb, glass sediment bowl at the mechanical fuel pump never has any debris in it.
I have a Carter electric fuel pump at the tank that is operated by a switch on the dash. When the engine starts to starve for fuel I switch on the electric pump and all is good within 10 seconds.
Can you make suggestions to clear up?
