I agree completely. I mean a 1970 cuda with a 705 hp hemi and no seatbelts? That is practically the definition of natural selection? Not saying I wouldn't drive something like that like I stole it, but at least take responsibility and don't ruin the hobby for everyone else. Once a legal president is set I am afraid of the effects.
I have been thinking and the immediate possible repercussion could be that a company would have to build on commission only. Something like legacy with packages and something vaguely like a production vehicle I could see being legally viewed as having product liability. If it is built to customer request it could be argued the customer did the "engineering". I would really like to see something of formal protection for a hobbiest that builds a truck or car and later sells it.
