PWs were used on several expeditions. The most know would be the Queen of Sheba expedition. In 195q by Wendel Phillips in Yemen. Others in Africa and Andes also happened. I also saw some pictures of PWs being used for hauling movie equipment and casts in Africa.

They were about the only truck that was available at that time which could handle the conditions and carry a significant load. Dodge special built some of the trucks used on these expeditions.
