A few weeks ago I had to replace the 3 year old mechanical fuel pump in my WDX, despite ALWAYS using non-ethanol fuel. :(
I did some calculating, and my old mechanic friend who retired from the shipyards in Bremerton, WA, has been dead for 25 years. He installed a Carter electric fuel pump in my F350 4x4 at least 5 years before his death. It still works, but there are times when the engine runs like it is a little starved for fuel. I am contemplating replacing it, after these 30 blissful years.
Carter makes several pumps that look similar, and the ID plate is illegible, so I don't know which model it is. What do you all think the psi rating should be for a 428 engine with a 4bbl Edelbrock carburetor?
Thanks.
