I have 4 trailers and yes my deckover gooseneck wears tires worse than the others. It also weighs a lot more both empty and loaded. I pulled the axles last year and checked them with a straight edge, also replaced all the bushings and the pivot between springs. The axles have some bow to them but they bow up in the middle opposite of how an axle would bend if overloaded. I assume this is intentional so under load they are straight?
I might be a bit biased but I had Goodyears on a brand new trailer I bought in 2006. I never gave them any thought and didn't have any trouble until around 2012 with a lot of loaded miles. Unfortunately my comparison is to a different trailer since I went to a larger gooseneck from bumper pull, but I have had wear issues and tread separation in equal measures. I like taking my m37 off road and sometimes tow a trailer into some challenging terrain just to get where I am off roading. Definitely hard on tires but my tow rig is subject to the same abuse and more yet I don't have the same problems.
