The bottom
Cover is off.. clutch "cover" issue?
Vaughn.. is that what your referring to? The bottom inspection cover? Cause that's not even on at the moment.
I agree the return spring seems a little weak. But I think that is merly becuse of some interference with the rubber surround I built for weather proofing. I think the pedal is sticking to the rubber
So.. I'm able to get the truck to drive and shift fine.
How?
I'm at a HUGE amount of free play.
My pedal goes to about 5" from the floor before I'm releasing the clutch.
I'm completly releasing the clutch, too at this position.
So
Now I'm wondering if this is becuse of a brand new pressure plate and it's thickness contributing to this.
Like I wrote, I'm more confused that at a 3/4"-1" free play pedal, pushing down the clutch pedal to about, oh, 2" from the floor, I can shift.
If I push it further down, the grinding occurres AND the truck begins to move.
My guess is I'm pushing the throw out bearing so far at this pedal adjustment that it forces the disk to the flywheel?
A guess only. But I can't rember EVER having this happen in the past with a new clutch install.
