I had an IHC 345 that when hot, idled with 0 psi and the pressure picked up as rpm went up. It was this way when I got it and it was this way when I sold it. This engine otherwise ran fine for the years while I had it. Now, these engines had a known issue with cam bearings over time and this engine was likely not rebuilt and was a minimum of 25 years old at the point I attained it.
I'd not be very happy with a recently rebuilt engine showing the same symptoms, as I imagine you are not. But something similar perhaps going on in that excessive clearance somewhere other than rods and mains is allowing pressure to bleed off at idle. ?
