Electrical problems are the toughest to find. With Chrysler, it has been my experience most weird electrical issues lye with the Power Control Module (PCM), the main computer. Sensors and relays play a part as well. The dealer has the ability to run a computer test of the PCM and send it to the Chrysler Engineers for analysis. Just needing to do that tells you the complexity of their electrical systems. If his truck has one and he hasn't done that, he might want to consider it as well as picking one up from a wrecking yard to switch out to see if the problems go away.
