My 1955 Power Wagon is a nicely faded /aged Armor Yellow. I was going to repaint but am entertaining the thought, at least for now, of just giving it squirt of matte clear for preservation and retaining the patina. I've done a nominal amount of auto painting over the years, though basically 'old school' lacquer and enamels. No 'modern' finishes. My concern is 'prep'; How to prepare sufficiently for adhesion but not destroying the patina in the process. To me, any wet sanding will actually polish the oxidized finish and defeat the process. Hoping Tim H. will chime in as he did this on his truck a number of years back. Any input will be appreciated.
