Todd, if you check the history of the 426 hemi you will find that the engine was based on the 426 wedge block, the cranks interchange, as will the rods if needed, oil pan is the same, water pump housing and water pump, cam bearings are the same, as are the timing gears, even the lifters can be crossed over. the hemi has four studs for fastening the head along the upper side of the lifter galley, they are in the same place as the RB wedges. I raced a 426 Hemi in a 64 plymouth for several years with a 440 crank in it,(six bolt flange instead of the Hemi 8 bolt) fit all my 440 stuff that I already had. make no mistake, a 426 hemi IS a RB block.
