For a vehicle, you want a liquid withdrawl setup. The liquid propane needs to go thru a heat exchanger to create vapor for the carb. Liquid withdrawl will greatly extend the miles between fill ups - maybe as much as 4:1.
I agree with the others, no engine damage caused by using LP gas. In fact, there are probably more advantages than negatives. The biggest negative is sourcing a place to fill up when needed. You could always carry a spare tank if the laws in CR allow.
