It was a good move to have the back corner of the truck anchored back to the tree on about a 30 to 45 degree angle. Had I been the crawler operator I would have turned the crawler around and positioned it on a steeper angle to the truck, out about 4 or 5 feet infront of the truck. Then lower the blade to the bottom over the bank, connected a chain as tight as possible from the left corner of the blade to about the center of the truck, lift the blade, reverse and twist the crawler as required, maybe set it down once or twice to shorten the chain if necessary to put it back up on the trail.
I think this method would have reduced the video to maybe half the time.
If you look at the end of their video, and the width of the trail, there really was no excuse for being down in that hole anyhow, other than maybe taking both hands off the wheel to open another liquid refreshment. JJB.
