I found this image at http://vintagemoparts.com from a link someone recently posted on this site. This is a page from a Dodge "Job Rated" Truck Special Equipment Catalog, which the seller advertises dates from 1948 to 1953.

I find very interesting what it says about heaters:

1) MoPar Truck Master Heater (looks to be a model 61, 62, 65, etc.) - "Applicable to all Dodge 'Job Rated' Trucks except the Power Wagon."

2) MoPar Deluxe Heaters (looks to be a model 36) - Applicable to Dodge 'Job Rated' Trucks prior to 'B' Series Trucks and all models of the Power Wagon.

There has been a lot of speculation here on the Forum over the years as too just which heater was correct for our Power Wagons. I think this piece of literature, direct from the Special Equipment division of Dodge, confirms what we had previously and tentatively settled upon; that the Model 61 etc. heaters were created specifically for the new "B" series 2WD trucks and the old Deluxe heater continued on as the preferred heater for installation in the Power Wagon.

This makes perfect sense as the Model 61 etc. Truck Master heaters did not work well on a Power Wagon in conjunction with the placement of the radiator overflow tank on those trucks up through early 1951. After a few hundred serial numbers into 1951, the Power Wagon fire wall changed with the overflow tank being relocated by several inches, thus allowing easier mounting of the Model 61 etc. Truck Master heater.

It appears Dodge changed the Power Wagon slightly to better accept the new heater produced for MoPar and to distance itself from the old more generic (and maybe soon to be discontinued) heater that had been used on Chrysler cars and trucks for years.
