The engine, if I recall correctly, was rated for 10-40 libs. So I figured I'd put a relief valve in the steam line set to 15-20 lbs.
As for the feed pump I keep seeing a bicycle brake cable run from a cam on one of the lower geared shafts. The cam pushes a lever that compresses a spring to pull the cable. The cable works the pump sitting in the bottom of the 5 gallon bucket. When the boiler pressure is low, it pumps in water. When its high the cam just compresses the spring. Adjust the spring adjusts the set pressure.
