When I look at the front suspension on my 1968 W300 and then my 2006 2500, I have to laugh. The W300 axles are Dana 70. The 2500 are Dana 80. The W300 is a closed knuckle design, with massive bearings and has serious drag link, tie rods and steering arms. The 2500 parts are a joke. The engine in the W300 is a 318, probably half the weight of the Cummins in the 2500. I get it that everyone wants a new truck that drives like a car, so we get lighter duty equipment. I'm 76, and just looking for replacement parts that will at least last as long as I will be driving the truck. :)
