My first car was a 1950 Dodge 4 dr with Fluid Drive transmission.

It was 3 on the tree. You could drive it just like any other manual 3 speed tranny, using the clutch to shift. Or you could use the clutch, shift into 1st gear position hit the go pedal and go. At a certain speed, dont remember, probably 2o mph ??, let off on the gas, it would shift to 3rd, hit gas and go.

Come to a stop, if your in the auto mode the tranny will shift back down to 1st. Sit at the light, no clutch needed. Light turns, mash the go pedal and your off.

I can absolutely guarantee, you will NOT light up the tires. Dont remember the fuel economy, but back then at .18 to .20 cents a gallon, I did not care.

Any specific questions That I might remember answers.....duh
